Fishery and Modernazation Program

The Philippines Fisheries Development Authority (PFDA) as an attached agency of the Department of Agriculture (DA), in coordination with the Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources (BFAR) with its survey team conducted an infrastructure assessment study in the Municipality Of Culasi last July 12-14, 2011.

          Culasi has a total of 19 coastal barangays which was visited by the survey team accompanied by the Information Officer. The survey team gathered pertinent fishery data/statistics such as:

  • Volume of daily fish production/unloading
  • Number of fishing vessels operating in the area; and
  • Listing of existing fishery post-harvest facilities and infrastructures and municipal map showing the location of the landing sites and facilities.

         The survey was lasted for 3 days and luckily based on assessment conducted the recommendation of priority projects for possible implementation, Culasi will become a recipients for the Establishment of Fishery Post-Harvest facilities and Infrastructures in the northern part of Antique.
